Just about a year ago, Sally over at Already Pretty released her book. It’s called, appropriately, “Already Pretty: Learn To Love Your Body By Dressing It Well.” If I could be said to write about the nexus of style and social context, Sal writes about style and body image. And her book offers a step-by-step plan to develop a clothing style that works with your body and makes you feel good in the process.
She writes with enormous kindness, good humor, and encouragement. I’ve met her in person, she’s very much like her writing – lovely.
You all have asked me occasionally how to build a wardrobe from scratch, and I’ve done just that, if you can allow a play on words, scratch the surface. Sal’s book is for those who want more. Particularly those who like concrete advice, and support. She offers, for example, ways to highlight or downplay almost every single aspect of one’s figure. As well as tips on how to cope with your closet, and the mantra, “You’re Already Pretty.” Isn’t that a sentence worth remembering.
If you’d like more info, or to hear from the woman herself, take a look at Sal’s guest post here last year.
