While the inimitable “Une Femme” and I have collaborated, intentionally, on a couple of posts, this morning’s alignment is serendipitous. She’s thinking mules, I’m thinking sandals.

If my budget weren’t fully spoken for this month, I’d be replacing an old pair of Rieker sandals right about now. Why? Are they worn out? No. I bought them too big, they’ve always been too big, and I hate that lonely peninsula of shoe that sticks out in front of my toes.
Sandals are better almost too small than a little too big.

Not sure I can manage orange though. They come in black, but in a sandal I prefer something close to the color of my pale, pale legs.
So maybe these from Free People. I’m a sucker for a heel zipper.
But to qualify for the sale, I’d have to add something to the order. I know, maybe a maxi dress? I am so tempted to add in a smile :) emojii here. Which would, of course, require another ;).

Oh YES!!! I love both of your shoe choices. Obviously, I recognize good taste. ;-)
And you have to go with the VINCE maxi. It would be perfect with your hair, and plus, I can live vicariously through you, Lisa.

The Vince maxi would be a great choice…you could wear that at home or on your Hawaii vacations! Great shade too…

@Patsy, It goes very well with navy – but not so much with my skin+gray hair. Boo!
For the way I dress, and live, Birkenstocks are still my favorite. And from experience, maxi dresses in a lightweight silk get very static-y and cling in weird ways. However, it’s a very pretty style.
@Kathy, I absolutely live in Birkenstocks, but, there are times when I want a shoe for summer that’s one notch up. Good point on the cling, didn’t even occur to me.
I too live in Birkenstocks now, but do occasionally want a sandal. Love the dress too.
