Sale At Sephora Today And Tomorrow

Sephora is having what is apparently a bi-annual 15% off sale. I did not even know this was a thing.

They tier it with their loyalty program (which I recommend, the rewards are frequent and fun). Today only, if you are VIB level (depends on how much you’ve spent, thank you Christmas 2016!) you get 15% off with code VIBSPRING. Tomorrow it’s 10% with code BISPRING for all Beauty Insiders (register online for membership) .

My current replenish-on-outage items, i.e. the things I bought once and will buy again and should therefore have waited to stock until this sale but lesson learned, are the tarte BB cream (it is so silky and glides on with fingers for every day skin tone evening and SPF), the Sephora mi-cellar water for face-cleaning (hate to splash water around in the bathroom as much as I hate it for floors, unless I’m in the shower), and that amazing Bare Minerals liquid lipstick.

The eyebrow pencil is on its way to me – as yet untried, fingers crossed. When I ordered I found I had store credit which was like a little mini-party and I’m still celebrating. While I don’t believe in calling makeup “Beauty,” as they do across retail, I would be just fine if we called it “Fun.”

  1. Ha ha, I lemminged to the sale yesterday. (Yes, I am a VIB Rouge, slightly embarrassing to admit given the expenditure it takes to get you there.) For me these sales are justification for buying the larger sizes of expensive-ish skin care, such as these AHAs.

By the way, the Sephora house brand brow pencil is quite great: has a very thin, medium-hard lead, which allows one to sketch in hairlike strokes instead of a block of color, and a decent shade range.

    1. @maryn, I buy the large-size mi-cellar water, it has this nifty pump dispenser that gives me joy. And thanks for the rec on the Sephora brow pencil.

  2. I’M A VIB ROUGE TOO, AND LOOKING FORWARD TO A WEEKEND IN VEGAS WHERE I PLAN TO STOCK UP ON KATE LIVINGSTONE DILO OIL AND CONTINUE MY PERPETUAL SEARCH FOR EYEBROW THINGIES THAT WILL HOLD DOWN MY WAYWARD BROWS WHERE I STILL HAVE THE AND FILL UP EMPTY SPACES THAT DO NOT AND WILL LOOK GOOD WITH PALE SKIN AND SILVER HAIR.

  3. I was wondering about mi-celler water. You are the first that I know of who uses it.

    1. @MaryAnne, To me it’s like eye makeup remover for the whole face, and it makes my skin soft, and I don’t have to get all wet unless I want to;).

  4. Please, please, if you’re up for it – do a makeup video again. It was one of my favorite posts of yours.

I know it’s not from Sephora, but have you ever tried any of the Glossier makeup – from the blog, Into The Gloss. It’s good for those of us who like the barely there look.

I’m still contemplating the steam mop thing.

    1. @Kathy, I bought some of the Glossier stuff for my niece for Christmas, clearly because I was intrigued. Might just have to buy some for myself;). And I have not forgotten about the date night makeup video, I am so flattered you liked the first one. Just need a good venue for the video – last time I was outside under a patio umbrella at the Carneros Inn, great light!

  5. Thank you for the heads up on the sale. Who knew? I also appreciate the earlier post on the Bare Minerals liquid lipstick. I now have it in Friendship, JuJu (a little too bright) and as of today, XYZ. It is a comfortable, long lasting lip color. My go-to items, purchased today are the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and the amazing Peter Thomas Roth Laser Free Eye Serum. I realized how good it is after I stopped using it for month. I bought 2 today.

    1. @Leslie, Hmmm. I wonder if I can get a sample of that eye serum for when I run out of the one I bought from a reader who seems to have taken a powder;).
